Your donation supports students
Every dollar North Beach PTA raises goes directly to support programs at our school.
The PTA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so your donations are tax-deductible.
The North Beach Elementary PTA supports three fundraisers a year to raise money that directly supports our classrooms, teachers, students, and school through critical staffing, and community engagement. This fundraising is critical to the PTA and the wellbeing of the school socially and academically.
Our three main fundraising events each year include:
The BIG GIVE (our annual fund, held in the fall) The Big Give is North Beach PTA’s direct giving fundraiser, during the two week campaign in November. The goal for The Big Give is $50,000.
Tree of Good Cheer - funds raised to directly support families with needs in our community
Annual Auction held in the spring. This parent night out is North Beach PTA’s largest fundraiser. Featuring interactive games, a silent and live auction, and a night of mayhem and fun.
Donations of any size are welcome year-round, and can be made anonymously if you prefer. If your family would like to make a major gift, or create a matching fund for any of our fundraisers, please email treasurer@northbeachpta.org
Corporate Matching
As a registered 501c3, North Beach PTA qualifies for corporate matching programs. These matches provide significant financial support for the school. Be sure to check with your employer their matching program. If your employer doesn’t offer donation matching, ask them to, our students will thank you.
Why your support matters:
PTA funds help close gaps in federal and state funding including, including:
More paid hours for office admin to support the well-being of the students and staff
Additional instructional aides in classrooms
Teacher grants for programs and materials
Programs like our artist-in-residence
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I donate?
You can donate online anytime on our giving page. You can also drop off or mail a check to the school office, and our PTA treasurer will pick it up.
How do funds raised by the PTA get spent?
Critical staff support: Each year, the PTA allocates more than $130,000 to fund additional staffing, helping address critical staffing needs and provide additional support in key areas. This includes essential office and counselor support, academic intervention, and specialist instruction (Art, PE, and Music).
Enriching student experiences: PTA funding also supports field trips, enrichment programs, classroom technology and supplies for our classrooms.
Why doesn’t Seattle Public Schools (SPS) fund more?
Washington State doesn’t adequately fund public schools, and it caps the property taxes local districts can collect for their schools. The result is budget shortfalls in districts across the state. Each district uses a formula to divide its limited funds among schools. Seattle Public Schools’ formula gives more money to higher-poverty schools (Tiers 1–2) than to lower-poverty schools (Tiers 3–4). The expectation is that students at lower-poverty schools will either do fine with fewer resources, or that their PTAs will fill the gap through community donations.
What if we don’t reach our fundraising goal?
If we fall short of the amount planned in our annual PTA budget, we may need to cut spending for the next school year, which could include:
Fewer days per week with a counselor in the office
Fewer assemblies, field trips, and enrichment programs
Can I spread my donation out over the year?
Yes! You can set up a monthly recurring donation for whatever length of time works for you.
Does the PTA accept employer matching gifts?
Yes! Employer matching makes up a large share of the funds we rely on. Because we don’t have paid fundraising staff, we count on you to submit the matching paperwork. If your employer offers a matching gift program, please take a few minutes to request the match. When you donate, it also helps if you note your employer’s name and their matching platform (such as Benevity) so we can connect the match to your gift.
Is my gift tax-deductible?
Yes! North Beach Elementary PTA (Seattle Council PTSA 6.15.255) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law. Our IRS EIN is 91-1320831. You’ll receive a thank-you letter documenting your contribution.
