Neighborhood schools offer an inclusive instructional program that aligns with SPS core instructional strategies, including Universal Design for Learning (UDL) using SPS adopted grade level curriculum. Each neighborhood school’s CSIP describes how educators meet the needs of students.
The Continuous School Improvement Plan (CSIP) is a product of collaborative inquiry around a comprehensive needs assessment led by school leaders and school staff in collaboration with district staff. The CSIP provides an overview of district and school priority areas, goals, measures, practices, activities and connected resource allocations.
Each school’s Building Leadership Team or other Principal designated team is responsible for conducting ongoing progress reviews, adjust practices and strategies, update goals, action plans and connected resources allocations in response to the implementation of the evidence-based practices and impact on student outcomes.
The CSIP also serves as the school-wide improvement plan for our Title I schools. Learn more about Title I.
Each school has a 2026-27 CSIP and it will be published mid-November 2026.
The Continuous School Improvement Plan (CSIP) functions as a dynamic tool aligned to Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). The CSIP supports schools in using an asset-based approach to identify and address diverse needs by implementing evidence-based practices within an inclusive educational environment. The CSIP aims to reduce systemic inequities and improve student outcomes. The 2025-26 Annual CSIP is designed to be a working document and makes visible school-based improvement planning and progress monitoring which is required by the Washington Administrative Code (WAC) 180-16-220. This annual CSIP meets the requirements of School-wide Title Programs, Learning Assistance Program (LAP), and OSSI School Improvement Plans.
