About North Beach Elementary

North Beach Elementary is the neighborhood school for families in the North Beach, Olympic Manor, Blue Ridge, and Crown Hill neighborhoods in northwest Seattle. It is part of Seattle Public Schools. It is a warm, welcoming school where children and families are truly known and valued. 
Serving students from kindergarten through fifth grade, as well as a Seattle Preschool Program classroom, the school offers a nurturing environment that blends strong academics with a focus on kindness, curiosity, and community. Families are an important part of life at North Beach, and you’ll find an engaged school community that supports learning both in and out of the classroom. With dedicated teachers, enriching programs, and a friendly, inclusive atmosphere, North Beach Elementary is a place where children are encouraged to grow, explore, and feel at home.

Get to Know North Beach

The North Beach Way is our school motto. “At North Beach, we take care of ourselves, each other, and our school!”

Herbie is the beloved Seal mascot of North Beach Elementary. Herbie makes appearances as prizes to students, dresses up for each year’s auction, and is a rallying cry for the North Beach way. Herbie is soft, fluffy, and 100% adorable.

Purple, white, and athletic gold are the North Beach Elementary school colors.

“Caught Ya” Tickets are a way that teachers and staff recognize students for following the North Beach Way. Students’ names are announced and celebrated in the student’s classroom.

Enrichment is an after-school program run by the PTA. These classes allow your student to sample new and interesting activities and explore their world. Classes change throughout the year and include comics and mural design, art, basketball, theater, chess, and coding.
